The 4th International Yellow River Forum (IYRF) will take place October 20~23, 2009 in Zhengzhou City of China. We are very pleased to present this invitation for you.

The International Yellow River Forum is one of the most recognized river events in the world, which is hosted by Yellow River Conservancy Commission of China. The river thematic conference will be organized every two years to address water challenges for river basin management. The 1st IYRF on River Basin Management Mode, Experience and Up-to-date Technology Application in 21st Century was held in 2003 and attracted more than 500 participants from 32 countries & areas. The 2nd IYRF focused on Keeping Healthy Life of the River, more than 1,000 attendees from 60 countries & areas joined the conference, exchanged experiences of river basin management from different perspectives, presented innovated viewpoints and advanced experiences, and delivered “Declaration of Keeping Healthy Life of the River”. The 3rd IYRF with the central topic Sustainable Water Resources Management and Delta Ecosystem Maintenance had 1200 representatives from 64 countries & areas who communicated and discussed issues in social, economic, environmental and historical sectors. In the forum, “Yellow River Initiative - Declaration of the 3rd IYRF” was released and has facilitated international exchange and cooperation.

In 2009, Ecological Civilization and River Ethics is the main theme of the 4th IYRF, which aims to promote public awareness of river protection, appeal to the whole society to strengthen river management, and formulate harmonious coexistence between human being and rivers.
